Today Miriam Taylor, Layton Davis, Buddy Farris and I, James Hall, went with Patsy Englehard, owner of Knit 1 Oxford, to check out the Boys and Girls Club's facilities to see where and what we will be yarn bombing April 11th. We have a pretty good idea of what to expect and how to approach it, but we need volunteers. There will be about 115 kids there April 11th, and we need more people on our team in order to get them all involved. We are going to drop off supplies a few days before for them to make God's Eyes and other yarn wrap items to hang from the trees on the day of the event, April 11th. If anyone wants to volunteer to do any of the preliminary work for that, gluing Popsicle sticks together etc., or would like to help on the 11th, leave a comment or e-mail me, firstname.lastname@example.org. We could also use any old sweaters anyone wants to donate, or twisty ties.
There will be a group meeting to bomb the light poles in front of Knit 1 Oxford this Sunday, the 3rd at 3:30pm. Come see what we're talking about.
One more thing, we need some more music talent for the April 28th Elements of Oxford Festival. Drop any suggestions or requests in the comments box.
